If you think about it as if it were a highway system, it would go a little like this: you approach the junction that you will be using to get on the highway, so this is the search engine; you enter into the stream of traffic that’s already there and go about your business, in other words you find the website you had intended to visit, whether that be for social, domestic or leisure reason; you then stay on that site, or sites comparable to it, for an amount of time that has made your eyes hurt, comparable to feeling tired when driving; you then pull over into a service station to rest, which is the time when you begin to browse the web, not really looking for anything in particular, just something to see your mind off the final lap of the journey you are about to embark on.
